Skype is a third-party communications software that allows you to make video calls to anybody else with a Skype account and Internet connection. It can be used on a wide variety of devices from desktop computers to tablets, mobiles and even TVs. It is perfect for one-to-one and group video calls and has high quality audio and video, but is limited in terms of participant numbers without having to pay extra: 25 people for a free audio call and 10 people for a free video call. Tools such as Blackboard Collaborate will be more suitable for video conferences with a whole class.
Skype is an unsupported tool so be sure to note our guidance on the usage of unsupported tools before use.
