With the on-going transition of lectern PCs from Windows 7 to Windows 10 across campus, an issue has arisen which needs to be highlighted to colleagues who incorporate Turning Point Cloud within their teaching.
When loading Turning Point Cloud on a Windows 10, Office 2016 PC, you will notice that Microsoft Excel will load automatically.
This is benign, and you must not attempt to close Microsoft Excel. Closing Excel will cause Turning Point Cloud to malfunction and to not display user responses correctly.
Turning Point Cloud uses Excel to log user responses – but on Windows 7 and Office 2013 environments, Excel loads in the background and appears much less prominently. This can be verified by consulting the active processes in Windows Task Manager.
