The Replay lecture capture system will be unavailable on two days during August. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause. We have scheduled these maintenance periods to have minimal impact on staff and students.

Monday 17 August 2015, 8am-5pm

Improvements to the Replay server

On Monday 17 August the Replay system will be unavailable all day (expected downtime 8am-5pm) in order to migrate the system to a faster server for improved user experience. These server improvements will allow us to cope with the increase in scheduled recordings for the 2015-16 academic year, processing lecture captures quicker to make them available to students sooner after the lecture.

During this downtime all users will not be able to access recordings or upload recordings.

Tuesday 25 August 2015, 8am-10am [Postponed]

Annual Bulk Deletion

On Tuesday 25 August the Replay system will be unavailable for up to two hours in the morning (currently scheduled 8am-10am) as part of our bulk deletion of 2013-14 Timetabled Lecture Captures as per our retention policy. Users will not be able to access any recordings or upload recordings during this window. All 2013-14 Timetable Lecture Captures will be irretrievably deleted, please see my previous blog post on downloading archival copies.

After 10am, Timetabled Lecture Captures for 2014-15 will be available to view and you will be able to upload new recordings. Personal Captures will remain unavailable to view until after I have completed deletion of the 2013-14 captures. This is expected to take most of the day and Personal Captures may not be available until 26th August.

If you have Personal Captures that you intend to be available to students on 25-26 August, please notify me by emailing vle-support@york.ac.uk and I will ensure they are made available as soon as possible after 10am on the 25th.
