Lecture Capture - Replay Service

UPDATE 9am, 19 March: The Replay service was restored last night at 11pm. Further details.

UPDATE 6pm, 18 March: The data restoration is complete. Service providers are now completing the upgrade and checking the system overnight.

UPDATE 5pm, 17 March: With sincere apologies to students wishing to use Replay for revision today. One of the server disks failed on reboot this morning, so our hosting providers are currently restoring from last night’s backup. We have over 5TB of data, so it’s taking some time to reinstate and check the restored disk. It is likely this downtime is expected to extend into Thursday (19 March). When more information is available for a predicted uptime, we’ll post this on our Twitter feed.

The Replay lecture capture system will be unavailable between 8am-15pm on Tuesday, 17 March 2015 for scheduled maintenance. During this time we will perform an essential upgrade to version 5.4 Service Pack 5. Replay recordings will not be able to be viewed, you will not be able to access EchoCenters and staff will not be able to access the Replay Admin Interface or upload Personal Captures.

We have scheduled the upgrade for this date so that it takes place outside term time, and will have a minimal impact on the viewing of Replay recordings during the student revision period.

There will be no noticeable change to the user interface, but the service pack will improve security, capture reliability and performance, and support for Personal Capture in Windows 8.1. Further details are provided on Echo360’s website.

Staff using Personal Capture

If you are a Personal Capture user, please upgrade your installation to the latest version after Tuesday. This can be downloaded from the Download tab in the Replay Admin Interface at https://replay.york.ac.uk

There are no visible changes to the program, but upgrading improves support with the updated Replay system and fixes a few issues from the previous version.
