New guidance has been developed outlining how the VLE’s Assignment tool and Grade Centre can be used to support completely online workflows for submission, feedback generation and return for non-anonymous student work. Note that this tool and workflow is distinct from the functionality offered by the VLE to support anonymous workflows often required for sumative work.
The guidance breaks the workflow down into 4 key stages, offering alternatives for users who want to download work to be marked offline or remain online and do all their marking and feedback within the VLE. The 4 key stages are;
- Set up; student facing guidance, supporting multiple markers
- Accessing student work; marking online / downloading and marking offline / tracking and chasing students
- Creating feedback and marks; creating feedback online (overview and inline comments) / uploading feedback created offline
- Releasing feedback and marks to students
