HYELNC Conference, Presentation: Encouraging the use of digital resources

Encouraging the use of digital resources: Responding to student feedback about problems of reading on screen. Presented by Matt Cornock and Blayn Parkinson.

Yesterday myself and Matt Cornock presented to the Higher York e-Learning Network conference on the Reading on Screen web resource which we have been working on (see my previous post), here are just a few reflections on our presentation and how I felt it went.

Not wanting the presentation to just be an hour of technology speak listing a succession of interesting applications I was a little concerned how we were going to fill an hour. I needn’t have worried, despite it being the last presentation of the day and the usual thinning of numbers we had no difficulties in getting a discussion going around the website and even had to cut the discussion short due to time.

The reception from the audience was positive with a number of suggestions for the site and it’s uses, such as inclusion into student induction material.
