Video editing / Screencast news: Camtasia gets an upgrade

Screenshot Camtasia upgradeWe have been using Camtasia to support staff and students to create screencast videos and for basic video editing. Feedback tells us users find it pretty straightforward, intuitive and with enough functionality to meet most needs. The recent upgrade looks like making it even more useful and simple to use and I look forward to tresting this with application deployment team and hopefully upgrading the licences held by IT services.

Improvements promised include:

  • Multitrack video editing
  • Better media assets (pre-built things you can include to look flashy)
  • Animation capabilities
  • Video effects
  • Interaction tracking
  • Improved production options including better support for mobile formats
